Walk Derbyshire Pilots

Active Neighbourhood Pilots

Active Neighbourhood Pilots are taking place in Bolsover, Chesterfield, Erewash and North East Derbyshire.​

They aim to increase levels of walking through adopting a systems approach to walking and will help to make it easier to walk for travel or enjoyment in local neighbourhoods and communities. ​

Each Active Neighbourhood Consortium had until 30th April 2023 to submit a proposal for £20k funding to help support a phase of community engagement and then had until 31st August 2023 to start engagement with communities, evaluate responses and co design/ develop a proposal for a further £80k of funding to action some of their findings.​

Investment will be used to meet the needs identified collectively by the stakeholder group and through community engagement. ​

This funding must be spent by March 2025.

Community Engagement and Coproduction Pilots

Community engagement and Coproduction Pilots are taking place in High Peak, Derbyshire Dales, South Derbyshire and Amber Valley.

​They aim to increase levels of walking through engaging communities in learning about what would support people to walk more either on a place based or district wide level.​

​Community engagement and co-production will be developed to understand the barriers and opportunities to support residents to walk more, funding opportunities and deliver interventions. ​

Each area has until March 2025 to complete their Pilot.
